Badminton at the Olympics

Badminton was introduced in the Olympics as a demonstration sport in the 1972 Games in Munich, then as an exhibition sport in 1988 in Seoul.

Then in 1992 in Barcelona, badminton made its debut in competitions as an Olympic sport, holding 4 events (singles/doubles for men/women).

69 different countries have played in the Olympic badminton competitions for the past 7 Olympic badminton games.

The country with the most Olympic medals in badminton is China, with a stunning total of 18 medals!
